The chair exhibits features of the Renaissance style and the subsequent Louis XIII style, which was popular in the 19th century. These styles are known for their sturdy, often oak construction and lavish woodcarving. The most striking features are the detailed lion heads at the ends of the armrests and the twisted (spiraled) woodwork of the legs and rails. The seat and backrest are upholstered with fabric featuring a floral or jacquard pattern, secured with decorative nails along the edges. The chair can be considered antique if it is older than 100 years.

De stoel vertoont kenmerken van de renaissancestijl en de daaropvolgende Louis XIII-stijl, die populair was in de 19e eeuw. Deze stijlen staan bekend om hun robuuste, vaak eikenhouten, constructie en uitbundig houtsnijwerk.
De meest opvallende kenmerken zijn de gedetailleerde leeuwenkoppen op de uiteinden van de armleuningen en het gedraaide (getordeerde) houtwerk van de poten en regels.
De zitting en rugleuning zijn bekleed met een gestoffeerde stof met een bloem- of jacquardpatroon, vastgezet met siernagels langs de randen. 
De stoel kan als antiek worden beschouwd als deze ouder is dan 100 jaar,
