AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

TANGO is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that captures the intensity, elegance, and emotional tension of this iconic dance.

The scene features a couple in full movement, frozen in a moment of perfect balance. Their bodies, interwoven with precision, convey strength, connection, and desire, in a choreography where every gesture is intentional.

The dancer's red dress bursts forth as a vibrant accent against the sobriety of the black suit, creating a visual contrast that reinforces the drama of the scene. The city in the background, synthesized into silhouettes, places the action in an timeless urban context.

The bold lines and flat colors connect with the aesthetic of the classic poster, while the frontal composition turns the image into a recognizable and powerful symbol.

TANGO is a work that celebrates the encounter between two forces, where tension, rhythm, and complicity transform into an image full of character and emotion.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
