Hand-lacquered and hand-painted trumeau, late 19th – early 20th century, Florence
Elegant Italian trumeau of Florentine manufacture, dating to the end of the nineteenth century / beginning of the twentieth, finely lacquered and hand-painted. The piece features a sinuous and harmonious silhouette, enhanced by rich scroll decorations, floral motifs, and ornamental cartouches executed with great artisanal care.
The upper part consists of a two-door, shaped-body decorated with refined panels painted in green tones and brick red, enriched with gilded fillets and decorations that highlight its elegance. Inside there are shelves, ideal for storing books or objects.
The central part presents a laid-top calatoia, also finely decorated, which when opened reveals a writing compartment with small side drawers and central compartments, perfectly integrated into the structure.
The lower part is composed of three wide, contoured drawers on the front, decorated in continuity with the whole piece and fitted with original hardware. The interior of the drawers, finished in rosy tones, creates a pleasant chromatic contrast with the exterior.
