Description from the seller
Vintage handmade wrought iron fireplace tool set (63 cm) – Art Deco taste – Italy, 1930s-1940s
Elegant and robust complete fireplace set, a prime example of high-quality Italian craftsmanship from the first half of the 20th century (circa 1930-1940). Standing at 63 cm, this set is not only a functional accessory but a genuine design object that blends the solidity of “massive” wrought iron with the refined, geometric lines typical of the Art Deco period.
Main Features:
Italian Craftsmanship: Entirely hand-forged. Note the twisted central shaft and the tripod base adorned with a coronet of hot-forged acanthus leaves, hallmark of Italy’s excellence in traditional metalwork.
Design and Style: The top end features a spherical knob on a radiating fluted cap, a detail reminiscent of the modernist decorative taste of the 1930s.
Completeness: The set includes the freestanding stand and the 4 original tools: tongs, ash shovel, poker, and a hearth brush with period bristles.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The iron presents a beautiful natural dark patina, free of penetrative rust, attesting to its authenticity and age.
A piece ideal to complete a fireplace in a historic residence or to add a characterful element in a contemporary design context.
