Sertum was one of the most dynamic and important motorcycle manufacturers in Italy, whose story began in 1922 in Milan. At that time, Fausto Alberti decided to expand beyond the precision engineering production, with which he had already been involved for some time, to the bold design and construction of motorcycles.
Already in the 1930s, Sertum's reputation grew rapidly, thanks to the models "Batua", 175 "Utilitaria" and 250, and the production of cars and three-wheelers.
Sertum's fame also grew quickly in the racing world, notably in reliability trials. Before Sertum closed its doors in 1952, there was still time to offer in 1950 the innovative 125 lightweight motorcycle, which never went into production.
This short but intense story is told by the prestigious name Mario Colombo, who, through careful reconstruction of the facts and a systematic catalog of the different models, supported by rare images from that era, tackles this fascinating subject with equal passion, not forgetting useful restoration tips.
