Glenmorangie Signet, a 70 cl, 46% ABV whisky from Scotland’s Highlands, in a single-bottle lot, aged up to 30 years (local barley) with about 10 years from chocolate malt.
Description from the seller
Glenmorangie Signet, arguably the most unique whisky in the core range, debuted in 2008.
It is a blend of whisky distilled from local barley, aged for up to 30 years, and whisky distilled from chocolate malt (approx. 20%), aged for approximately 10 years. Chocolate malt is used in the production of dark beers such as porters and stout. The whisky's name refers to a design carved into stone by the Picts who ruled northern Scotland in the 9th century, which adorns almost every Glenmorangie bottle. Glenmorangie Signet has won several significant medals and awards, most recently a gold medal in 2017 at the International Spirit Challenge.
Nose: Rich, dark chocolate, coffee beans, raisins, hazelnuts, prunes, bitter orange jam, golden syrup, toasted sesame seeds, and hints of tobacco and oak.
Palate: Rich and elegant, chocolate truffles, espresso, orange zest, honey-roasted almonds, dried dates and plums, caramel, cinnamon, hints of vanilla and tobacco.
Finish: Long, with notes of dark chocolate, dried berries, bitter oranges, tobacco, and oak.
