This heart-shaped collective box gathers various contributions from artists: prints, drawings, editorial booklet and found objects. Most of the contributions are signed and dated by the artist. It contains the editorial book by Guttiérez announcing Art Basel 1998. Nearly 800 artists and 44 collectives contributed to the unprecedented editorial venture of Plages, conceived by Roberto Gutierrez, Argentine artist who emigrated to France in the mid-1960s. In addition to its exceptional longevity, Plages is remarkable for the way it has pushed, across issues, the physical and conceptual boundaries of the magazine medium, exploring a new way of conceiving art, its circulation and its reception. This issue is its most significant testimony.
