Invader - INVADEROMA
The Invader guide, INVADEROMA, encapsulates the points where the artist created his works in the Italian capital in 2010.

With the invasion of Rome that occurred in the summer of 2010, the artist finally added the Italian capital to the list of the more than forty cities he has invaded so far: from Kathmandu to Bangkok, from small urban centers to large metropolises such as New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and especially Paris.

The artist revisits urban space, generating wonder and transforming daily routes into unique journeys.

The first edition of the guide dates back to October 2010 in a limited edition of 1,000 copies. INVADEROMA is published in both Italian and English by Wunderkammern.

Invader: Biography of the artist
Born in Paris in 1969, the street artist Invader is known for his mosaic works that evoke characters from the famous video game Space Invaders and which have invaded cities around the world.

He studied in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts and works incognito, mainly at night and masked. He is the cousin of street artist Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) and appeared in the 2010 documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop, directed by Banksy with Mr. Brainwash alongside street artists such as Shepard Fairey (Obey) and Banksy himself.

Invader began his career in the world of street art in the 1990s with his first mosaic installed in Paris in 1998. In the following years he expanded the reach of his work and “invaded” another 31 French cities before extending interventions outside France, such as in New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Today there are more than 60 cities where his works are visible, and in Italy the invasions of Rome and Ravenna are well known.

Invader has held solo exhibitions in art galleries in Paris, Osaka, Melbourne, Los Angeles, New York, London and Rome. He exhibited at the 6th Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art (2001), at the Borusan Center for Culture and Arts in Istanbul (2003), at MOCA in Los Angeles (2011) and at the Urban Nation Museum in Berlin (2017).
