Triumph 2000, a 1967 English saloon.
Description from the seller
GENERAL
We present a magnificent 1967 English classic sedan, an exemplar that immediately evokes the elegance of 1960s British films and series. The Triumph 2000, designed by the renowned Giovanni Michelotti, sparked a revolution at its launch by offering independent suspension on all four wheels, a technical advance far superior to that of its Rover or Ford contemporaries. This unit is a true “rara avis” outside the United Kingdom, especially because it has never been restored, preserving a patina of originality that is hard to find today. Moreover, it has the exceptional advantage of being factory LHD (left-hand drive), a configuration very uncommon for this model, making it perfect for use on continental Europe.
BODYWORK AND PAINT
The exterior condition is excellent, showcasing its original blue paint across most of the body with a still-intense shine. Having spent its life under Spain’s mild climate and always garaged, the car shows no corrosion. The undersides are in magnificent, structurally sound condition, although it is advisable to strip and apply a fresh protective coat, as the original coating has lost efficiency over the decades. The boot retains its original carpet in perfect condition, underscoring the care this car has received since the late 60s.
MECHANICS
Mechanically, the car delivers fantastic performance. It is equipped with Triumph’s prestigious inline-six engine, renowned for its elasticity and for being the mechanical base that later powered the TR5 and TR6 sports cars. The engine sound is extremely smooth and the manual transmission operates with total precision. Although it is part of a collection and used little in the past year, the car has been rigorously maintained. It is a vehicle that stands out for its ride comfort, thanks to that independent suspension system which in 1967 made it one of the most comfortable and stable cars in its class.
INTERIOR
Inside, the vehicle is in enviable condition. It is especially notable for its Bordeaux red leather upholstery, which has been detailed and cared for meticulously. The headliner, door panels, and interior plastics show remarkably well-preserved condition. Only the wood inserts require light attention, as the varnish shows some cracks due to time in localized spots, a minor issue that is easy to resolve and will restore all the splendor to the refined British cabin.
DOCUMENTATION
This unit has Spanish registration documents in order and is ready to be transferred. It is a car that came directly to Spain in its era, ensuring traceability. Although it currently does not have a valid ITV due to lack of recent use, it has a complete history of satisfactory technical inspections throughout its life. There is the possibility of delivering it with the ITV up to date or even arranging its registration as a historic vehicle if the buyer so desires.
PICK-UP
The car is available for inspection and collection in Logroño, Spain. As a running unit that starts and operates smoothly, collection logistics are straightforward. The seller offers the necessary facilities to coordinate the delivery of this 1967 limousine to its new owner.
OTHER INFORMATION
Acquiring this Triumph 2000 is like owning a 1967 time capsule. Its color combination, its six-cylinder engine, and the fact that it retains the original left-hand drive make it a very special collectible piece. It is a unit that stands out for its authenticity, ready to roll and to represent the best of British engineering and design from the sixties.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
