Nordic Solar – Sven Middelboe – set of 2 Nite Cap wall/bed lamps – 1974 – original orange
A particularly beautiful and original set of two vintage “Nite Cap” wall lamps, designed in 1974 by the Danish designer Sven Middelboe and produced by Nordisk Solar.
The Nite Cap is a characteristic example of Danish Space Age and 1970s design. The compact cylindrical shape, combined with the striking retro-orange color, gives the lamps a distinctive and playful appearance.
The shade can be manually rotated and aimed, allowing the light to be directed exactly to the desired spot. This makes the lamps especially suitable as reading lamps, bedside lamps, or compact wall spots.
Because of the relatively deep shade, a focused spotlight effect is created. The lamps are also particularly decorative when paired with a mirror-head lamp, as shown in some photos.
Both lamps are fitted with an E27 socket, allowing a variety of modern light sources to be used, including suitable LED lamps.
