Description from the seller

Openable egg in solid silver from the late 20th century with its matching stand. Silver, enamel and pearls.
Total height 8 cm
Rare display piece
Portugal

Superb display piece consisting of an openable egg in solid silver and its original stand, also in solid silver. Total height of the ensemble: about 8 cm.

The egg is coated with a deep, bright green enamel, enhanced by a finely worked mount set with genuine pearls and faceted stones adding sparkle and refinement. The interior is mirror-polished, with a perfectly functioning hinge.

Featuring various silver hallmarks, including the Lisbon 925 mark visible on the bail as well as inside the egg, attesting to the metal's quality.

The stand, also in solid silver, is richly worked. It features touches of blue enamel and a sculpted decorative motif. The whole is adorned with inlaid faceted stones, offering an elegant contrast between the intense green of the egg and the bluish tones of the base.

This is a particularly careful piece of jewelry craftsmanship, revealing refined artistry and great mastery of traditional techniques in solid silver, enamel, and marcasite setting.

The finesse of the filigree, the quality of the finishes, and the harmony between enamel, silver and stones attest to a high-level creation intended for a discerning clientele.

An uncommon piece on the market, particularly sought after when kept complete with its original stand.

True collector’s piece or refined display item.
