Joachim Mogarra Signed; la Fondation Mogarra, first edition softcover art book in French and English, 52 pages, 23 × 21 cm, signed by the artist.
Description from the seller
Welcome to certainly one of this year’s highlights for Catawiki, regarding “signed art books”; stemming, on the one hand, from the estate of Karl Geyer! A art collector from Jülich who, in almost 75 years, accumulated about 100,000 drawings, autographs, art books, and objects, and who made friends with many artists, such as Gerhard Richter, Otto Piene, Janosch, Günther Uecker and many others!
And on the other hand from my private collection, which I was able to build up over many years.
In this auction there will be 100 handsigned and in some cases even hand-painted art and photo books by international artists, such as
- Gerhard Richter
- David Hockney
- Ellsworth Kelly
- Georg Baselitz
- Cornelia Schleime
- Wolfgang Tillmans
- Martin Eder
- Andreas Gursky
- Bridget Riley
- Wolfgang Mattheuer
- Bernhard Heisig
- Thomas Ruff
- Bernard Aubertin
- Anselm Kiefer
- Gunter Sachs
- Richard Long
and many more, with a starting minimum bid of 100.00 euros.
Do not miss this extraordinary opportunity to obtain signed books by artists, some of whom are already deceased and have legendary status!
Here we offer:
JOACHIM MOGARRA
(World-renowned Spanish contemporary artist who currently lives and works in France)
Very exceptional object!
The artist had the crazy idea of recreating other, much more famous artists as “Smurfs”.
Thus artists such as
- Gerhard Richter
- Joseph Beuys
- Georg Baselitz
- Damien Hirst
- Jeff Koons
- Jean-Michel Basquiat
and many more were victims of his “Smurf fever”!
The best comes last!
The artist signed and dedicated this edition to “Gerhard Richter”! Whether he ever held this edition in his hands is not known, but there were two major exhibitions about it, namely from 01.12.–20.12.2006 at the “MAJOR GALLERY” in London, as well as at the “GALLERIE GEORGES-PHILIPPE / NATHALIE VELLOIS” in Paris, from 19.01.–24.02.2007 with the title
la Fondation Mogarra
by hand from the artist
- signed
- dedicated to Gerhard Richter
