Yaka Headrest - DRC

The Yaka are one of the many ethnic groups that make up the vast Congo and belong to the Bantu peoples. Their artifacts are expressive and elegant, as shown by this anthropomorphic musaw headrest, adorned with a crouching female figure. It measures only 21 cm, but its small size in no way diminishes the power of its presence.
