Hand-blown glass sculpture in clear glass with blue and amber colour bands, measuring 30 cm high, 13.5 cm wide and 14.5 cm deep, of Dutch origin, dating from 1960-1970, in excellent vintage condition with no signature.
Description from the seller
Dynamic hand-blown glass sculpture.
An impressive hand-blown glass art object with a powerful, flowing design. This sculpture is crafted in solid, crystal-clear glass and stands out for its refined color veining that is deeply embedded in the core. The color play consists of flowing bands in vivid blue and warm amber/reddish brown, which reinforce the impression of movement.
The organic, spiral structure evokes the famous "Niagara" collection by the Bohemian designer Frantisek Zemek or the "KristalUniek" series by Dutch glass artist Max Verboeket. The object is an excellent example of Mid-Century Modern glass art and, with its timeless forms, fits in both classic and modern interiors.
Technique: Hand-blown free-form glass art (huttenwerk).
Color: Clear glass with embedded (sommerso-style) blue and amber bands.
Style: Mid-Century Modern / Studio Glass.
Origin: Europe (ascribed to the Bohemian or Dutch school, ca. 1960-1970).
Condition: In very good vintage condition; no cracks or damage to the polished sides.
Dimensions:
Height: 30 cm
Width: 13.5 cm
Depth: 14.5 cm
Additional information for bidders:
The object has no signature or sticker, which is common for glassware from this period. The value is determined by the craftsmanship and the unique organic form. The glass catches the light beautifully, causing the colors to appear differently from every angle.
