Lot of five chinoiserie cloisonné enamel pieces from China, dating to the Fine XX secolo, in very good condition, including 1 peacock with detailed feather work and a 9 cm wide by 6 cm high figure, 1 small blue‑gradient bird, and 3 turtles whose removable shells function as pill boxes or jewelry boxes with turquoise interiors, all made on brass/copper base.
Description from the seller
Elegant group of five animals created with the refined cloisonné enamel technique on a brass/copper base. The lot consists of:
1 Peacock: Characterized by detailed feather and crest workmanship. Dimensions: 9 cm (width) x 6 cm (height).
1 Little Bird: In blue enamel with a graduated shade.
3 Turtles: Distinctive and functional, serving as small pill boxes or jewelry boxes with the shell removable. Interior enameled turquoise blue. Dimensions: about 5 cm in length.
The cloisonné technique involves the manual application of metal wires that outline the decorations, subsequently filled with colored vitreous enamels and polished. Floral and geometric motifs are typical of the Oriental artisanal tradition.
The items are in good conservatory condition. They show minor and normal signs of aging that attest to their period and originality, but do not compromise the overall aesthetics (please view the photos carefully).
