Cameos from the Empire period (c. 1804–1815) are characteristic of the Neoclassical style that was popular during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte. Jewelry from this era reflects a strong fascination with Roman and Greek antiquity. The cameos have been removed from old jewelry and come from a jeweler's stock.
