Description from the seller

Rare Himalayan Tribal Ring in White Metal and Turquoise with Carved Bearded Face - Vintage Handmade, circa 1970-1990

This extraordinary oversized ring is a treasure of Himalayan ethnic craftsmanship, where the robustness of white metal blends with the vibrant energy of turquoise. With a weight of 49.2 grams, it dominates the hand with an outer diameter of 42.8 mm, total thickness of 34 mm, and inner band of 19 mm – ideal for a unisex bold statement look or as a bold pendant.

The circular setting is a hypnotic mosaic of turquoise tiles, from sky blue to coppery green with natural matrix, arranged in a petal pattern around the centerpiece: a face carved directly into a turquoise cabochon (diameter 26.9 mm, thickness 5 mm).

It depicts a proud bearded face, with a hat or distinctive wide-brimmed headwear and stylized details, a symbol of ancestral wisdom and spiritual protection in mountain traditions.

The shank, forged in an arch like a bridge suspended between Himalayan valleys, is also a work of art: clad in rough turquoise bars and crowned by an intense sky-blue cabochon, perhaps a remnant of a ritual.

Every element screams handmade: the white metal, naturally oxidized with a lived patina, shows signs of hammering and manual inlays, typical of master artisans from Central Asia. The turquoise, probably stabilized from Afghan or Persian mines, is mounted with traditional resin, creating a three-dimensional effect that catches the eye.

Imagine high-altitude goldsmiths, perhaps in the valleys of northern Pakistan or Nepal/Tibet, working by firelight to evoke talismans of strength and harmony.

This bearded face evokes archetypal figures of Himalayan cultures: a wise shaman or tribal guardian with ritual headgear, echoing local deities watching over shepherds and merchants along ancient caravan routes. Wearing it is like carrying a fragment of living history – protection against misfortune, a talisman for travelers, jewelry for collectors of ethnic Wunderkammer. The authentic patina, with slight folds and wear, testifies to decades of real life, not mass production. Excellent vintage condition: solid structure, intact stones, ready to shine again.

Perfect for lovers of tribal boho, Zen symbolism, or unique pieces to show off. Precise measurements certified, shipping insured with protective packaging. A rare opportunity to possess a Himalayan soul in jewelry form.
