Description from the seller

Pair of Armchairs "En Cabriolet" in Fine Wood – 18th / 19th Century
Description
The armchairs feature a solid wood frame (probably walnut or cherry) finely shaped. The front legs are characterized by the classic cabriole motion ending in scroll feet, while the tall, contoured backrest provides comfort of times past. The armrests, slightly set back and also curved, rest on curved supports typical of late 18th-century cabinetmaking.
The upholstery is coral-red damask fabric with raised floral motifs, finished with a border of brass studs that accentuates the profile.
Technical Details
• Material: Fine wood and damask fabric.
• Style: Louis XV transitional / Neoclassical.
• Construction: Handcrafted interlocking frame, wax finish.
Dimensions
• Total height: 104 cm
• Width: 67 cm
• Depth: 62 cm
• Seat height: 46 cm
Condition Report
The chairs are in generally good condition for their age. The frame is solid and stable. The fabric is well preserved, with a light patina that testifies to its antiquity and enhances its charm. Normal signs of wear on the wooden frame are present, which confer authenticity to the lot. (Please examine the photos closely for details of the patina and wood).
