AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Antique top hat from the early phase of the 20th century (circa 1910–1920), made of black silk plush.

The hat comes from the traditional Bernese hatmaking workshop P. Zurbrügg’s Söhne, Bern, and stands out for its classic, elegant shape and high-quality craftsmanship.

Inside there is a stamp from A. Cassé – Paris ("Fournisseurs des marques parisiennes"), a renowned supplier of premium hat materials. Additionally, the awards Grand Prix London 1908 and Bruxelles 1910 are noted, which allows dating to after 1910.

The top hat is in good, wear-appropriate condition with slight signs of use. Shape stable, interior lining and sweatband original.

The original hat box with gold lettering is also present and completes the ensemble.

Today, original pieces from this period are rarely preserved in complete condition, especially in combination with the original hat box.

The set consists of:
• original top hat
• original hat box
• original hat cushion

A beautiful and authentic collectible piece of European hatmaking craftsmanship.
