Padlock with a box-style case and its original key.
Material: Hand-forged wrought iron. The marks of forging and the imperfections typical of pre-industrial artisan work are clearly visible.
Mechanism: It is a wheel lock or exposed-spring lock. The internal mechanism shows a large leaf spring (visible at the top right in the photo of the open lock) that serves to hold the bolt in position.

Serratura a "scatola"  con la sua chiave originale.
​Materiale: Ferro battuto a mano. Si notano chiaramente i segni della forgiatura e le imperfezioni tipiche della lavorazione artigianale pre-industriale.
​Meccanismo: È una serratura a "mola" o a molla scoperta. Il meccanismo interno mostra una grande molla a lamina (visibile in alto a destra nella foto della serratura aperta) che serve a tenere in posizione il chiavistello.
​Chiave: Si tratta di una chiave "femmina" (a canna vuota) con un pettine (la parte che gira) a mappa complessa. La canna è lunga circa 17-18 cm, il che suggerisce che dovesse attraversare un portone o una porta molto spessa. L'impugnatura (anello) è di forma ovale semplice, tipica dell'uso funzionale.
​Epoca
​Sulla base della forma del pettine della chiave, del tipo di lavorazione del ferro e del design della scatola, il set può essere datato tra la fine del XVIII secolo (1700) e la metà del XIX secolo (1800).
​La struttura è ancora legata a modelli settecenteschi, ma la robustezza e la tipologia di montaggio sono rimaste in uso in contesti rurali o per grandi portoni di palazzi fino a metà Ottocento.
