Anton Corbijn - Inwards and onwards - 2011

Anton Corbijn's remarkable work in portrait photography is highlighted this summer in Amsterdam as part of an exhibition featuring new portraits created over the past eight years. In addition to his usual subjects from the world of show business, such as Iggy Pop, Bruce Springsteen, Tricky, or Tom Waits, he trains his lens on visual artists and fellow painters like Bernd & Hilla Becher, Peter Blake, Lucian Freud, Anselm Kiefer, Richard Prince, Peter Doig, and many others. The new selection of Anton Corbijn's images is as breathtaking and surprising as his previous work.

On the occasion of his new exhibition in Amsterdam in the summer of 2011, this volume pays homage to Anton Corbijn's portrait photography, presenting both personalities from the entertainment world and visual artists and painters photographed over the past eight years.
