Description from the seller
GENERAL
The 1992 Mini Cooper 1300 represents a significant era for the classic British icon, specifically marking the transition period before the introduction of single-point fuel injection. This particular example is a rare survivor from the Portuguese market, remaining in highly original, unrestored condition. As part of the final carbureted series, it features the spirited 1275cc A-series engine, which is widely celebrated by enthusiasts for its mechanical simplicity and classic driving dynamics. Unlike many examples from this period that have undergone extensive overhauls, this vehicle retains its factory-original paint, upholstery, and carpets, making it a distinctive find for collectors seeking authenticity over restoration. Owners of this model benefit from an exceptionally large and well-established spare parts catalogue, ensuring that the vehicle can be maintained in top mechanical and aesthetic shape for many years to come.
BODYWORK & PAINT
The vehicle presents the original black paint finish with a good overall shine, appearing to have been well maintained. At first glance, no deep scratches, significant dents, or obvious signs of accidents are visible, though there are some minor signs of use consistent with its age. The chrome elements, including the bumpers and grille, are in good condition with minimal wear. The window rubbers appear complete and functional, while the glass surfaces are clean and free from visible damage. In the engine bay, some superficial signs of oxidation are visible, particularly in the front area near the radiator, but there is no clear indication of structural corrosion or signs of recent welding and structural repairs.
TECHNICAL
The engine bay appears clean and relatively original with all main components in place and no obvious oil or fluid leaks. Hoses and components are in functional condition. The engine runs perfectly, making for a fun drive. The car is equipped with Yokohama tires that currently have plenty of tread remaining.
INTERIOR
The entire interior is original and remains in very good condition. The seats feature upholstery in good shape with a classic pattern and no visible tears, showing wear that is minimal and consistent with careful use. The door panels and dashboard appear complete and well preserved. The sport-style steering wheel is the original unit, consistent with the last series of Mini Coopers produced without fuel injection. The floor covering is clean and well-fitted, and the headliner is original. The entire electrical system, including the radio, ventilation, lights, indicators, and switches, is in working order.
DOCUMENTS
The car has a clear history with only two owners from new, the most recent being the wife of a well-known Portuguese lawyer. Crucially, it holds certificate number 15613 from the Caramulo Museum, which officially certifies the vehicle as having matching numbers.
COLLECTION
This car has always been located in Portugal, contributing to its excellent preservation. It is exceptionally difficult to find a Mini of this vintage in such a well-preserved state without it having undergone a full restoration. For the purpose of viewing or pickup, the vehicle is located in a town conveniently situated between Setúbal and Lisbon.
OTHER INFORMATION
The vehicle is noted for its high level of originality, specifically regarding the preservation of the factory paint, upholstery, headliner, and carpets, all of which remain in very good condition despite the car's age.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
