Description from the seller

Beautiful set of 3 English solid oak nesting coffee tables with beveled glass tops — ca. 1960–1970

OBJECT
This elegant set of three nested side tables is a fine example of traditional English cabinetry from the 1960s–1970s. The tables are crafted in the so-called Old English or Jacobean Revival style, a style with roots in the early 17th-century English furniture tradition and which remained popular throughout the 20th century in Great Britain and the Netherlands.

The construction is entirely executed in high-quality solid oak, recognizable by the characteristic grain and the warm, deep color the wood has developed over the decades. The turned legs — a typical feature of the Jacobean style — are expertly crafted and give the set a timeless, stately appearance. A particularly refined detail are the beveled glass tops with facet edges, which break the light in an elegant manner and give the tables a graceful, nearly jewel-like quality. The octagonal/rounded corners of the tabletops reinforce this aesthetic effect.

CONDITION
Construction / mechanical: 10/10
The wood joints are fully sturdy and intact — no loose legs, no cracks, no breaks. The tables are structurally in new condition.

Visual / wooden: 9/10
The oak wood has developed a beautiful, glossy patina that testifies to careful use and good care over the years. There are minimal signs of use visible in the form of light scratches and a few small dings, fully in line with the age and careful handling. The many photos provide an honest and complete view of the visual state.

Visual / glass tops: 7/10
The beveled glass inserts have no breaks or cracks and no significant scratches. Locally there are small glass chips visible on the sides, which is typical for beveled glass of this age and does not spoil the piece.

The attached photos are an integral part of the description and give an accurate view of the object’s condition.
