Description from the seller

Extraordinary set of 3 solid oak Nesting Tables / nest tables with an organic triangular shape — Brutalist / Scandinavian design, ca. 1960–1970

ABOUT THIS OBJECT
This exceptional set of three nested side tables is a strong example of high-quality artisanal furniture from the 1960s–1980s. The tables align with Brutalist and Scandinavian-inspired furniture tradition, in which the honesty of the material, organic forms, and superior construction are central.

The tables immediately stand out for their distinctive, organically triangular leaf shape with fully rounded corners — a design that is both sculptural and functional and looks timelessly modern. The three square legs flow seamlessly with the honest, uncomplicated aesthetics of the design.

The most striking and distinctive feature of this set is the construction of the table tops: they are built from a double layer of solid oak. This technique — in which two sheets of wood with cross-grain are bonded together — is a deliberate craftsmanship choice that is found only in furniture from the high-end market segment. It prevents warping, guarantees exceptional stability, and testifies to the maker’s serious intent.

The beautiful, expressive oak grain is clearly visible on every top and gives the set a lively, warm character. The finish is crisp and precise: the rounded edges are perfectly sanded and polished, and the glossy patina shows that these tables have been treated with great care.

CONDITION
Construction / mechanical: in absolute mint condition — 10/10
All joints are fully tight and intact — no loose legs, no cracks, no breaks. Structurally in absolute mint condition.

Visually: 9.5/10
The oak has developed a beautiful, deep patina that speaks to very careful use. The minimal signs of use are fully in keeping with the age of the object and are very, very carefully used and do not detract from the overwhelming visual quality.

The numerous photos provide an honest and complete view of the object’s condition and are an integral part of the description.
