This impressive malachite stalactite formation shows the full expressiveness of this copper mineral in its raw, naturally grown form. The surface is characterized by densely packed botryoidal and stalactitic growths, which create a vivid relief in a range of greens—from deep forest green to bright, almost emerald hues. Particularly fascinating are the cut stalactites with clearly recognizable concentric rings, documenting the mineral's slow growth like tree rings.
The interplay of a velvety-matte texture and sporadically slightly glossy areas gives the piece a strong sculptural presence. In its overall appearance the formation seems archaic and powerful, yet harmoniously balanced.
