Important wall mirror of historic character, made in carved and stuccoed wood, with water gilding, following decorative models of Baroque tradition. The piece presents an elegant vertical format, topped by a richly carved pediment with scrolls and symmetrical vegetal motifs, a distinctive element of mirrors in late Baroque-inspired representations.
The frame is elaborately worked, with deep molding and projecting elements around its entire perimeter, conceived to enhance the play of light on the gilding. The quality of the carving and the harmony of the whole recall historicist productions of the 19th century, made according to classical canons and intended for prestigious interiors.
It preserves its antique glass, with patina, slight undulations and small imperfections typical of the passage of time, features common and appreciated in original period pieces. The gilding shows natural wear and small localized losses, coherent with its age and that reinforce its authenticity.
