Description from the seller
1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
GENERAL:
This legendary 1977 Pontiac Firebird is without a doubt the real deal and represents an impressive blend of pure American muscle, high-quality performance upgrades, and an appearance that commands respect at first sight; under the hood lies a Performance Built 474 C.I. Stroker V8 built exclusively with quality components, making this Firebird not only visually compelling but also mechanically exceptional. Thanks to the recently rebuilt TH200-4R automatic transmission (2024) torque is transmitted smoothly and controllably, while the 10-bolt rear axle with 3.73:1 gearing provides strong acceleration and optimal traction.
BODY/PAINT:
The bodywork is in very good condition and finished in deep glossy black, a color that strongly emphasizes the muscular lines of this 1970s Firebird and, combined with the lowered stance and the 17” Year One Snowflake wheels, gives it a particularly aggressive and timeless look.
TECHNICAL / PERFORMANCE:
The 474 C.I. Stroker V8 is built with a Butler forged crank, Eagle forged rods and pistons, Howards hydraulic roller cam with corresponding springs and lifters, and carefully sorted and polished 7K3 Pontiac cylinder heads, resulting in a powerplant that is both reliable and impressively strong. The Edelbrock Performer intake manifold in combination with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system provides modern, precise fuel delivery, better starting performance and optimal throttle response, while Doug’s ceramic headers lead into a 3” stainless steel exhaust system that produces a deep, powerful V8 sound.
The drivetrain is further supported by a 10-bolt rear axle with 3.73:1 ratio, Lakewood traction bars and 6-leaf rear springs, ensuring the power is effectively transferred to the pavement. The Hotchkis lowering kit with sway bars significantly improves handling and gives the car a tight, stable driving experience that perfectly matches the power.
For extra reliability and modern functionality, the engine is equipped with a serpentine belt system and billet pulleys, while the braking system has been upgraded to fully vented discs with BAER T4 calipers, providing strong and controlled braking performance that suits the car’s performance level.
INTERIOR:
The interior is finished in gorgeous red, providing an impressive contrast to the black exterior and giving the car a distinctive and stylish look both inside and out; additionally, a brand-new headliner has recently been installed, underscoring the cared-for condition and attention to detail. Sporty elements such as the Hurst shifter and the adjustable steering wheel (tilt wheel) provide a perfect combination of comfort, control, and authentic muscle car experience.
WHEELS & TIRES:
Equipped with 17” Year One Snowflake wheels in combination with low-profile radial tires, providing a perfect mix of classic looks and modern grip.
DOCUMENTS:
The car is equipped with EU registration (NL), which eases import into other EU countries.
PICKUP:
This Pontiac Trans Am can be picked up in Appingedam. We can assist with transport.
OTHER INFORMATION:
A unique original Trans Am, distinguished by its rarity and condition. Perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of American muscle cars!

Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
