Belgian-made wooden side table for a plant or statue, in good used condition with small signs of aging and stains, height 88 cm, top about 17.5 x 17.5 cm.
Description from the seller
This is a side table for a plant or statue.
The top has an octagonal shape.
Below it is a square attached, which was done with nails that you can see on the top surface of the top.
The slender legs are nailed on with a single nail on the side. There is also a bottom shelf, attached with a nail, going through the leg. It is very simplistic handiwork.
The design of this box can be called simple and has a natural look due to the use of wood and in a Japandi or minimalist interior it will sit well in place.
This plant table was purchased at a fair in Ghent, Belgium. It was sold by the saleswoman as a small table that came from an aunt, so it should date at least from 1920–1930 based on her information. If possible, it may be even older.
It is a very light little table; it weighs only 1.4 kg. It has a small crack on the top and eight insect holes, the nails have rusted, causing black spots around the black nails. The table apparently once had colored varnish or stain, but that has worn away here and there. Afterwards the table was treated with wax or oil. This has resulted in a beautiful, worn patina. Marked as good condition, because this weathered varnish creates an irregular color. You must embrace this to see the beauty of this old table.
Measurements:
Height: 88 cm
Top surface: about 17.5 x 17.5 cm
Legs are 26 cm apart
The bottom plate is 27 cm from the ground
Weight: 1.4 kg
Please look closely at the photos for the overall condition; the photos are part of the description. The other items, the felt autumn bouquet in the vase you see in the photos, are props for the photos and will not be included.
The table will be carefully packed and shipped to you.
