Baitz dolls from Austria, hand‑made with authentic traditional Tyrolean costumes, about 22–23 cm tall, with open packaging and in good condition.
Description from the seller
Incredibly charming Baitz dolls from Austria; they are all dressed in traditional Tyrolean costume. Baitz dolls were handmade in Austria, and the company closed its doors in 1999. The dolls wear authentic, traditional costumes that are fastened with minuscule pins. They are about 22, 23 centimeters tall. The farmer's cart filled with chicks is also included. Not sure whether the hat of the seated boy is original. Their stuffed bodies have wires to pose them in various positions and are wrapped in muslin/cotton, making the clothing easy to pin. Their arms and hands are made of felt, making it look as if the dolls are wearing mittens. The heads of the older dolls are made of composite material. Their hair is mohair and is styled in various hairstyles, from simple braids to styles from different periods. The company Baitz always aimed to be as historically accurate as possible in depicting the traditional clothing of each region, state or province of the countries they depicted. (Those countries were usually Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Iceland and Sweden.) Sometimes Baitz even made dolls representing historical periods and characters from fairy tales.
