For the always-important mid/high frequency range, the Ambiance uses the same Dual-Coaxial driver, known from Avancé, with the entire high-frequency driver placed in the acoustic center of the midrange driver. Through this construction with its natural, perfectly symmetric radiation characteristics, we get very close to the acoustic ideal of a point source.
The exceptional homogeneity, time-correctness and imaging of this driver are fascinating in conventional stereo applications, but it also offers clear advantages for multi-channel applications with varying listening angles and/or listening at short distances. Our earlier coax models have demonstrated the capabilities of this construction method in an impressive way.
The coaxial mid-/high-frequency range is supported by two long-throw 180 mm bass drivers with aluminum cones. In their optimally configured bass-reflex enclosure, these drivers deliver an impressive low-frequency response and astonishing accuracy at high output levels, which is quite convincing in home cinema applications.
