The Sony APM-12ES is a fascinating speaker from Sony’s renowned Accurate Pistonic Motion series (circa 1986). The ES designation stands for Sony's Standard line. The most striking feature is the square woofer. Instead of a round cone, Sony used a flat, honeycomb aluminum structure. This design prevents cone breakup, resulting in extremely low distortion and a very fast, accurate bass response.
