Description from the seller
French Napoleon III Era Sofa in Gilded Wood, Louis XV Style
Elegant French period sofa from the Napoleon III era, dating to the second half of the 19th century, crafted in finely carved and gilded wood in the Louis XV style. The structure features sinuous, flowing lines with scroll arms and a shaped front frieze, richly decorated with floral motifs and carved volutes. The apron is adorned with central and lateral carvings that highlight the craftsmanship of the piece, while the legs are arched and slender, typical of the Rococo taste revived in the period. The upholstery, reupholstered in fine San Leucio silk with a floral motif in warm red and gold tones, further enhances the elegance and prestige of the piece. A piece of furniture with great scenic charm, ideal for important living rooms or representative environments.
