Description from the seller

Antique Captain’s Chair – Barley Twist Armchair in Solid Oak – ca. 1900

Elegant antique captain’s chair dating from the early 20th century, executed in solid oak and featuring beautifully turned barley twist spindles.

This classic desk armchair combines craftsmanship and character, with its semi-circular backrest, curved arm supports and richly patinated wood. The twisted elements are typical of English Edwardian furniture and give the chair a warm, timeless appearance.

The seat and backrest are upholstered in a later applied fabric with a traditional floral motif, finished with decorative brass studs. The upholstery is in good condition and suits the piece well.

The chair is structurally solid and ready for use, with normal signs of age and wear, particularly visible on the armrests, consistent with its age and use.
