Bronze statue ICARUS.
Icarus is a figure from Greek mythology, known for his fateful flight. Together with his father Daedalus he escaped Crete with wings of feathers and wax. Despite warnings, Icarus flew too close to the sun, causing the wax to melt, he plunged into the sea and drowned. This story symbolises hubris.
