Description from the seller
The specimen we present today at auction is probably the most beautiful and original Fiat 2100 saloon for sale today anywhere in the world. The car is still first-time paint on almost the entire vehicle, with a few touched-up spots over time, but as you can see from the photos, the car is new. It has had 5 previous owners and then us, but the previous owner was a trader who took it back from an elderly gentleman in Pinerolo, so in its last years the car was used very little and stored under a cover inside a private collection. Not only that, except for a transfer in Venice where its third owner lived, the car has always been in the province of Turin.
Produced in the model’s first year (1959), it represents not only an opportunity due to its condition of conservation but also to be one of the units produced in the first year of the car’s release. Moreover, it is originally registered in Turin.
The doors, both front and rear, close very well (the car feels like a modern car in terms of how easily the doors close and stay perfectly in line with the body).
There is nothing to report about the car. No damage, no repairs, or any known accident. Every aesthetic component, every chroming, every gasket remains factory-original and in the condition it left the factory in. All the original decals from the factory are still present. The bumpers are very intact, the lighting, the glass (which are original and never replaced), the external tires, everything is in excellent condition. Even underneath, nothing critical is reported. The sheet metal all remains original, you can still clearly see the factory rivets, proving the car has never undergone refinishing or accidents. Also in the lower parts, as shown in the images, the car preserves its originality.
The car drives very well. All the brake cylinders have been overhauled, all fluids replaced, and the spark plugs changed, but considering the car has its original kilometers, a new battery was enough and the engine started up as if new. It has an impressively steady idle for a vintage car. It starts with less than half a turn of the key and settles at idle like a modern car. The engine has no oil leaks or seepage. The gearbox and clutch perform their duties excellently. The tires (original CEAT with white sidewalls) are in good condition, although, being a few years old, they may need replacement.
The interior, needless to say, is as beautiful as the exterior. The seat fabric is the original Fiat material. The seats are very comfortable and the fabrics show no signs of age. No tears, cuts, or fraying. They are all intact even in the less visible parts. The dashboard, then, is a real showpiece. When cars are maintained like this, stepping in is always a pleasure. All components work well. From the folding windows to the interior lights, the front headlights (both position and dipped), the rear lights, the cockpit lighting. Even the light around the cigarette lighter works well.
Tobacco-skin upholstery conditions are excellent. The rear door panels still have their cellophane. The pockets as well as the window cranks look like they just came off the assembly line and give a sense of sturdiness and integrity that few vintage cars offer. Also the headliner and sun visors are in excellent condition and have no stains or signs of use.
