Description from the seller

Beautiful authentic Bochara.
Antique, at least 100 years old.
Crafted with wool from their own sheep and dyes they made themselves from plants in their surroundings.
Knotted on undyed goat hair warp threads.
The octagonal shapes are called ‘Guls’.
Each tribe has or had its own Gul symbol.
This red is very beautiful, fairly soft in tone and with ‘abrash’, that is the mix of colors you see.
Because you do not see one monotone color but 100 small nuances, the charm of the handmade work.
Nice worn condition. No holes.
It had a small crack on the edge underneath, still visible in the photo. but that has now been repaired.

These carpets were traditionally made by Ersari nomads.
They lived on the grasslands in Turkmenistan between northern Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
These carpets are always attributed to Afghanistan, but as you can see above, that was only a small part of this people.
Bochara is the capital of Uzbekistan, the place on the Silk Road where these nomads sold their carpets. Hence the name.

>>> Extra costs for transport due to the heavy weight - 50 KG. Box size: 80x50x50 cm.
For example to France it will be with UPS at least 125 Euro.

I now have to fill something in to be able to make the advertisement, on a guess.
Prices vary by postal code and can therefore be different from what is listed here.
I use the price that DHL or UPS charges.
So it may be less or more, but those are the costs. We can compensate each other, there is no other system that addresses this.

If you would rather send me a label and pay the shipping costs yourself directly, that is also possible. Contact customer service. Indicate in payment "pickup yourself". then you do not pay Catawiki the shipping costs and you send me the label in the Catawiki mail or messages box. You can always send photos, messages and links in this messages box.

You are also free to send me a label of UPS or Fed-Ex or DHL. or any other transporter , makes no difference. It is not possible to get any pricing in general from UPS or DHL in advance, they want to know the postal code. So prices for transport will be different than as shown here in the Advertisement .; I have to gamble prices in order to make this advertisement.
