Description from the seller

A rare and complete set of calibrated and marked pewter jugs, most probably from Braunschweig, Germany, dating from the late 18th century. All of them marked with the maker’s mark HG under a crown and a second mark (guild mark?) also with HG and a shield with a hunting horn. All the jugs calibrated with several marks on the lid and handle. Every jug has a mark on the neck with a V under a crown. In the crown the numbers 8 and 3 can be found. (Quality mark?)
The largest jug is 25 cm tall, the smallest 12,5 cm.

Condition: age wear, some dents, the smallest jug has an old repair to the foot.

Seller's Story

Jack Nelis Asian and Tribal Art offers a very diverse collection of authentic objects from all over the world. I've had a gallery for 8 years, but nowadays I work mainly online and on selected art fairs like the Tribal art Fair in Amsterdam.
