Snuff bottle (Schnupftabakflakon) made of Murano glass.
The bottle was purchased in Venice in the 1970s.
Manufacturer: The design and pattern are characteristic of the renowned glass manufactory Barovier & Toso from Murano, Italy. However, a manufacturer’s certificate is missing!
Style: It is a vintage object, dating to the mid-20th century (approximately 1950s to 1960s).
Special features
Technique: The bottle was produced in the demanding avventurina technique. In this process, glittering metal inclusions (often silver or gold foil) are embedded into the glass, creating the sparkling effect.
Design: The piece features a horizontal stripe pattern in contrasting blue and green, combined with a dense speckling of precious metal foil.
Accessories: The pictured metal cap with the long rods was originally used to withdraw or dose snuff or fragrances.
Dimensions: Height approx. 12.5 cm, width (at the girth) approx. 6.0 cm, depth (at the girth) approx. 3.5 cm
Condition: Perfect condition with no chipping. The pictured metal cap with the long rods is the original cap.
