Description from the seller

Grande Grolla Valdostana Tradizionale – Legno Massello Intagliato a Mano – Artigianato Alpino – 1,1 kg

A magnificent specimen of Grolla Valdostana, the iconic object of conviviality and craftsmanship of the Aosta Valley. Entirely made and hand-carved in a single block of solid wood, this grolla stands out for its sturdiness and the quality of its decorative detail.

Main Features:
Function: Created for the traditional "Caffè alla Valdostana", it is equipped with 4 decorative spouts, allowing the beverage to be shared according to the ancient rite of friendship (à la ronde).

Workmanship: The top and the lid are finely worked with knife-point carvings, creating a geometric, scale-like texture that is very tactile and pleasant to the touch. The lid knob is carved in an organic shape, facilitating grip.

Material: High-quality solid wood (probably walnut or Alpine wood species), chosen for its heat resistance and its ability not to alter aromas.

Technical Specifications:
Dimensions: Height 21 cm | Maximum diameter 12 cm.

Weight: 1085 grams (a substantial weight that testifies to the density and quality of the wood used).

Condition: The object is in excellent cosmetic condition. The wood shows a beautiful natural patina and no cracks or structural damage are reported. The lid fits perfectly.

In addition to its traditional use, this grolla is an excellent decorative piece for cabins, chalets, or rustic interiors. It is an authentic example of Italian folk art, highly sought after for its ability to combine rustic design with a century-long history.

Origin: Italy (Valle d'Aosta)
