Description from the seller
HAITI. Paris. 10 Centimes. 1887.
- Value: 10 Centimes.
- Year: 1887.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: REPUBLIQUE D’HAITI 1887 · 25 GR. Reverse: LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE · UNION FAIT LA FORCE · 10 CENT.
- Grade: AU58 (NGC).
Silver 10 Centimes coin with an allegorical female bust of the Republic looking to the right, in a classic and sober style, with braided hair and a Phrygian cap, representing liberty. The reverse features the national coat of arms of Haiti with a central palm tree crowned by a Phrygian cap, surrounded by flags, cannons and other military elements, all within a symmetric and well-structured composition. The reliefs remain sharp with slight wear at the highest points, typical of circulation, while the fields show a uniform gray-silver patina with minor surface marks. An attractive specimen that reflects the Haitian republican symbolism of the 19th century, minted with a clear influence of French style.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
