Description from the seller

ICELAND. 500 Kronur. 1974.

- Value: 500 Kronur.
- Year: 1974.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: 874 · 1974. Reverse: 500 KRÓNUR · ÍSLAND.
- Grading: Uncirculated.

Commemorative silver coin minted for the 1100th anniversary of the colonization of Iceland. The obverse features a female figure guiding a cow, a symbolic representation of the Viking settlement and agricultural life, with a modern artistic style and smooth lines inspired by Nordic design. The reverse shows the four protectors of Iceland (landvættir): the eagle, dragon, bull and giant, arranged in quadrants, with a geometric design and a strong sculptural character. The reliefs are sharp, with good detail in the figures and clean fields with a slight satin tone, showing solid and attractive preservation.

Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped by your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
