we present a legendary Nikon Nikonos III, a 35mm film camera designed specifically for underwater photography and use in extreme conditions. produced between 1975 and 1980, this model is considered by many collectors and enthusiasts as the apex of the mechanical Nikonos series thanks to its rugged build and ease of use. unlike traditional cameras, the Nikonos III does not require an external housing, being itself watertight and resistant to water pressure. the camera body, in solid metal with a black finish, features an iconic and functional design, characterized by wide, easily operable dials even with diving gloves. the unit up for auction presents in excellent aesthetic condition, as visible in the images, and preserves intact its vintage charm. included in the lot we also find the very rare original carrying bag, made of reinforced fabric with tan leather-colored bands and the Nikonos logo stitched on the front, a vintage accessory difficult to find in this condition. this is a fundamental piece for any collection of historic cameras or for those who wish to experiment with adventurous analog photography using a reliable instrument with timeless design.
