Description from the seller
Beautiful Art Deco side table; you could call it a product of the Amsterdam School, made of beautiful oak with nicely turned legs in combination with clean and straight elements.
The weight of the little table is about 4.5 kg, the height 60 cm and the diameter about 45 cm. The little table is made of Dutch oak, still dried in the old-fashioned way. The top of the side table is made from three boards that have been glued together and turned round. The glue edges of the boards show two nice straight cracks. Although the glue surfaces in those spots have come loose again due to temperature influences, the top is nicely solid and stable. It can, of course, be re-glued, which would make the cracks disappear completely, but these cracks give the table history; it is actually quite beautiful (see photos).
The table was probably manufactured in the 1920s. This kind of table was often used as a side or smoking table. The table is still 100% original, with all original fixing materials.
This table is still in very good condition and completely stable. Here and there it shows logical signs of use, but these are all merely logical signs; easy to restore but not necessary to do so. The table can still be used as a side or smoking table, but also as a plant stand or pedestal (see photos).
The table is expertly packed and insured for shipment.
