Description from the seller
STORIA
Introduced in 1992, the 512 TR was one of the latest developments of Ferrari’s sensational Testarossa supercar. Ferrari’s flagship model, the Testarossa revived a famous name from the Italian company’s past when it arrived in 1984. A new-generation “Berlinetta Boxer,” the Testarossa kept its flat-12 mid-engined layout; the latter now boasts a higher maximum power of 380 hp, thanks to four-valve heads. Despite the power increase, smoothness and drivability were improved; the car features excellent overdrive flexibility, paired with a top speed of 180 mph. Unlike some of its rivals, the Testarossa had light controls and was relatively easy to drive, factors that, together with its exceptional performance and striking appearance, contributed to a high and sustained level of demand.
In 1992 the original Testarossa was replaced by the extensively revised and improved 512 TR, with 428 hp on tap and significantly superior grip compared to its predecessor, the latter highly appreciated by Autocar’s tester: “The 512 explicitly resolved road-surface information; the Testarossa’s feedback was not as clearly focused or ultimately useful when traveling at high speed.” And the 512 TR could certainly handle it; its requested top speed is 314 km/h.

For an absolute icon like the Ferrari 512 TR, it’s essential to emphasize the importance of traceability and official maintenance, balancing honesty about cosmetic conditions with the value of a mechanically impeccable specimen.
Here is a proposal to expand and refine the final section:
PANORAMICA / CONDIZIONI
This Ferrari 512 TR represents a splendid opportunity for the collector seeking an authentic, unrestored vehicle with a crystal-clear history. It is an Italian-origin specimen that has retained its original Matching Numbers & Colors configuration.
The car comes with its original Service Book and extensive invoice documentation, certifying maintenance performed exclusively through the official Ferrari Italian network, ensuring maximum peace of mind regarding ongoing checks over time.
EXTERIOR
The bodywork presents in splendidly preserved condition. Despite the passing decades, the car still exudes the charisma of Pininfarina design.
The paint shows some light signs of the time lived, a testimony to a real, never camouflaged history. To return it to its maximum display splendour, the car would require a light professional detailing intervention, ideal to restore the shine of Rosso Corsa and correct minor surface imperfections due to age.
The original wheels and side grills are intact and well preserved.
MECHANICS
If aesthetics tell the story, mechanics tell the care. The conditions of the 180° V12 engine are simply perfect.
Maintenance: The car has been consistently serviced at the official Ferrari network.
The engine delivers power in a linear and robust way, the gearbox is precise, and the chassis responds with the proverbial precision of the 512 TR. It is a car with mechanical integrity that requires no immediate intervention.
INTERIORS
The cockpit is a triumph of leather and ’90s design. The interiors are completely original and preserved, maintaining that scent and feel typical of Ferraris of the era.
Signs of the passing years are present, but do not compromise the elegance of the environment; on the contrary, they confer a patina of authenticity highly sought after by collectors of preserved examples.
The instrumentation is complete, functioning, and sharp, offering the driver that analog feedback that made the 512 series immortal.
Owning this 512 TR means parking a piece of Ferrari history in your garage with excellent mechanical traceability.

Buyers are responsible for vehicle's registration, not the seller or Catawiki.
Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
