Stunning Chinese rice-grain porcelain service set, often referred to as 'Linglong' porcelain. The set features small, translucent patterns in the shape of rice grains, created by cutting holes in the porcelain before glazing and firing. The pieces are traditionally decorated with cobalt blue, often complemented with red or gold accents and floral motifs and dragons. Although the technique is centuries old, this particular style was widely exported in the 20th century and is characteristic of Jingdezhen porcelain. The set includes rice bowls, plates, and matching soup spoons.
This set was made in Jingdezhen in the 1960s - 1970s.
