Museum replica of the Aquilops americanus skeleton, a small ceratopsian from the Early Cretaceous (Aptian–Albian), 1:1 scale, made in composite resin and hand finished; specimen: Dinosaurus; condition: cast replica.
Description from the seller
Fully museum-scale replica of the skeleton of Aquilops americanus, a small horned dinosaur (ceratopsian) from the Early Cretaceous (Aptian–Albian, circa 113–109 million years ago). Aquilops is the oldest known ceratopsian in North America and represents an early evolutionary branch within the group that later produced famous species such as Triceratops and Protoceratops.
This replica is produced at true life size (1:1) and displays exceptional anatomical accuracy. Each bone is digitally modeled using scientific references and comparative studies with related species. The model is 3D-printed in high-quality resin and subsequently hand-finished to realistically convey the natural texture and weathering of fossil bone. Some assembly by the customer is required.
The reconstruction emphasizes Aquilops’ gracile build: a light skull with a distinctive beak-shaped jaw, slender limbs, and an elegant posture that markedly differs from its later, heavier relatives. This museum replica is ideal as an educational object, display piece, or centerpiece for a paleontological collection.
Note: The wooden pedestal / metal support shown in the photo is not included.
