Description from the seller

This is a bronze sculpture of a Garuda (Vajra) with superb craftsmanship. The Garuda (Sanskrit: Garuda) is a giant bird originating from Hindu mythology. In Buddhism, it is one of the eight classes of guardian deities, typically depicted with a bird's head and a human body, with golden wings, and feeds on dragons. It is the mount of Vishnu and is also associated with the Tibetan Buddhist belief in the "Qiong" bird and the Chinese mythical Kunpeng. This mythical creature also appears on the Thai national emblem.
