Amethyst geode from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, weighing 1,454 g with approximate dimensions 15 cm by 6 cm, featuring a polished rim for freestanding display.
Description from the seller
1.45kg Deep Purple Amethyst Geode – Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
This is an exceptional example of high-grade Amethyst from the world-renowned deposits of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It features intensely saturated, deep violet hues across a dense field of lustrous macro-crystals. The specimen has been expertly prepared with a cut and polished base, allowing it to remain entirely freestanding for optimal display.
Crystallography and Aesthetics:
• Colour Saturation: The crystals exhibit an extraordinary deep purple hue, consistent throughout the pocket, reaching the highest grades for the species.
• Lustre: High vitreous lustre with sharp, well-defined terminations that provide excellent light refraction.
• Geological Formation: The specimen features a shallow, open-faced geode structure, offering an unobstructed view of the internal crystal growth. The polished rim beautifully reveals the transition from the basaltic matrix through the chalcedony/agate banding to the internal quartz.
Natural Geological Features:
In strict accordance with professional disclosure standards, this earth-mined specimen exhibits natural markings that serve as a testament to its organic formation:
• Growth Striations: Visible on the larger crystal faces, representing the rhythmic pulses of mineral-rich fluids during the growth process.
• Internal Veils & Marks: Natural internal fissures (veils) and occasional contact points are present within the crystal lattice. These are characteristic geological signatures and "fingerprints" of authenticity, confirming the specimen has not been treated, dyed, or synthetically enhanced.
Technical Specifications
• Mineral: Amethyst (Macro-crystalline Quartz)
• Weight: 1454g
• Dimensions: 15cm x 6cm (approx.)
• Origin: Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
• Condition: Excellent. Polished rim with an intact, natural matrix.
