Beautiful and authentic Dutch street-name sign bearing the inscription “Julia Culpstraat,” executed in classic dark blue enamel with white, slightly raised letters. A characterful piece that is immediately recognizable from the street scene of the 1970s and 1980s.

Under the street name it reads: “Nederlands zangeres 1880–1970.” This refers to Julia Culp, an internationally esteemed Dutch singer who became known mainly as a concert singer and interpreter of songs. She performed across Europe and the United States and was a significant name within the classical music world of her time.
