Art Deco ceiling lamp from the Netherlands, dating to circa 1930–1940, with a pressed glass globe shade and brass base, height 24.5 cm and base diameter 17.5 cm, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
A characterful ceiling lamp from the 1930s, where craftsmanship and style come together. This lamp stands out immediately with the richly decorated opal glass shade, combined with a warm brass base.
The glass shade has a globe-shaped design with refined relief decorations, including floral and shell motifs. This type of pressed glass was particularly popular in the 1930s and was machine-produced in molds, making detailed patterns accessible to a broader audience. The light is softly diffused by the matte glass, creating a warm and atmospheric glow.
The brass or copper base has a classic shape and shows a beautiful natural patina that fits perfectly with the lamp's age. The combination of glass and brass is typical of interwar lighting, where both decoration and functionality were central.
The lamp is a fine example of the transition between Art Deco and more traditional styles. The rounded shapes and ornaments give the whole a timeless look that fits both classical and eclectic interiors.
